There are 5 types of haircolor, temporary, semi-permanent, demi-permanent, traditional permanent, and revolutionary permanent:•Temporary haircolor - a rinse for example, utilizes 1 component, no oxidant, does not penetrate the hair shaft, and lasts from shampoo to shampoo.•Semi-permanent haircolor - is 1 component, but partially penetrates into the cuticle layers, and gradually fades from the hair within 4-6 shampoos.•Demi-permanent haircolor - uses 2 components, haircolor and developer, and is used to color the hair tone-on-tone, or to darken the natural or existing haircolor. DIALight and DIARichesse comprise L’Oréal Professionnel’s demi-permanent haircolor portfolio.•Traditional permanent haircolor - uses 2 components, including the developer, it penetrates deep into the cortex, and provides a lasting, permanent effect. Majirel & LUOColor fall into this category.INOA is a revolutionary permanent haircolor.
